University of Jyväskylä Faculty of Social Sciences, is seeking a social work professor.
The professor’s role includes social work research and teaching assignments, theses and research training, and research and educational development of cooperation with the faculty of other teachers and researchers . The Professor must focus on community social work. The future Professor of Social Work is also responsible for the national network of universities SOSNET organizing community social work.
Our Community Social Work degree program is currently in force for the period 2012-2015. The professor will conduct and supervise scientific research or artistic work, to provide education based on it, and follow the progress of science or the arts, as well as participate in societal interaction and international cooperation. The Professor’s focus must be on active research projects as well as research on and implementation, as well as a diverse methodological skills. The professor’s role includes managing research projects dissertations and master’s thesis – theses conducting both basic and advanced training as part of the provision of education.
The Professor’s mission is to promote their own scientific activities of social work research, education, training and practice, as well as participate in the development of non-supplementary funding to acquire.
In addition, the Professor will provide the necessary reports of their teaching, supervision activities, publications and scientific activities and examinations. This is a doctoral degree and includes high academic qualifications and experience in scientific research, the ability to provide high-quality research-based instruction and guidance, as well as evidence of international cooperation.
The assessment also takes into account the applicant’s practical familiarity with the social sector. It also stressed the high international standards of scientific publications. The University teaching and research staff are required to master the Finnish language in which they provide instruction but must have the ability to give instruction in the English language. The Rector may grant exemption from the terms of language skills.
The Professor’s work specific salary component is determined by the university salary of teaching and research staff, the job demands level of 8 to 11 (4597.75? / Month – 6783.52? / Month). In addition, on personal performance-based salary up to 46.3% of the position salary.
