Joptek company based in eastern Finland recently received a 15 million Euros order from STX‘s shipyard in France to supply flooring, walls and doors for the Oasis ship which is being built at the shipyard.

According to the contract, Joptek must supply 2,000 internal and external balconies and the cabin doors to the shipyard in St. Nazaire, France. The prototype balconies won’t be built until September 2013 with the series contractually having to be delivered towards the middle of next year.

For Joptek company this contract means not only net growth in sales for the company but also marks the beginning of further development of the company and better reputation as a global competitor.

Aku Lampola, CEO of Joptek, is very optimistic and believes this contract will help the company make a stronger presence in international markets with high hopes of expanding specifically into North Karelia.

The Federation of Finnish Enterprises suggests that the collaboration between the shipyard in St. Nazaire and Finland may open further doors for other Finnish companies too as France is seeking long-term partnerships for its shipyards.
