Temporary Sous Chef
Restaurant Korpoström, located in a beautiful part of the Finnish Archipelago, recruits an international kitchen brigade for the period from May till September. We suggest interesting opportunities for final year students from cooking schools in the EU.
The company is based in Turku on the west-coast of Finland and we offer our guests restaurant- and hotel facilities on different locations around the city. Restaurant Korpoström with its 120 seats is built on the waterfront on the seventh island from the mainland. Besides choosing from a French inspired menu with dishes made with local products, guests have also the opportunity to reside in the hotel or in the yacht harbour.
This area of the world is a mesmerizing place to spend the summer. The chef de cuisine, Jerome van Breemen, is both of Dutch and French nationality. For his kitchen team this summer we are looking for Sous-chef Requirements: examined student with diploma from a chef-de-cuisine school. This position requires work experience in a respected restaurant or hotel kitchen. The candidate will have an incline to leadership and takes responsibility in absence of the Chef. English is used as the common communication language. The Chef speaks 7 languages and will facilitate when needed.
The organisation in the kitchen is based on the classical French kitchen. You are prepared to adapt to a busy seasonal rhythm and don’t mind working irregular hours. Work period: May 21th to September 15th 2014 Salary: Finnish collective agreement wages (12,50 gross per hour) Bed accommodation 150.- per month, warm staff meal 5,50.
